The Fighting Swordsmen of VFA-32 were formed on February 1, 1945 as Bombing Fighting Three (VBF-3) flying the F6F Hellcat. Over the years they have flown multiple aircraft such as the F4U Corsair, F-8 Crusader, F-4 Phantom, F-14 Tomcat and currently the F/A-18F Super Hornet. They have served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, and Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and Inherent Resolve.
