The Fighting Redcocks of VFA-22 were established on July 28, 1948 as an attack squadron (VA-22). They originally flew the F8F Bearcat followed by aircraft such as the F4U Corsair, A-4 Skyhawk, A-7 Corsair II, F/A-18C Hornet and currently the F/A-18F Super Hornet. They have served in various areas of combat to include Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan. YCBAR!
