The Vigilantes of VFA-151 were established on August 6, 1948 flying the both the F4U Corsair and the F6F Hellcat. Over the years they would fly the F9F Panther, F2H Skyray, F2H Demon, F-4 Phantom, F/A-18 Hornet and they are currently flying the F/A-18E Super Hornet. They supported actions in the Korean War, Vietnam War, Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Inherent Resolve.
