The Blue Diamonds of VFA-146 were called to service on February 1, 1956 flying the F9F Cougar. Over their years they have flown the FJ-4 Fury, A-4 Skywahk, A-7 Corsair II, the F/A-18 Hornet and currently the F/A-18E Super Hornet. They have deployed in support of the Vietnam War, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve.
