The Kestrels of VFA-137 were established on July 2, 1985 flying the F/A-18 Hornet. The flew the Hornet until 2003 when they transitioned to their current aircraft, the F/A-18E Super Hornet. They supported both Operations Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
