The Knighthawks of VFA-136 were established on July 1, 1985 flying the F/A-18 Hornet. The flew the Hornet until 2008 when they transitioned to their current aircraft, the F/A-18E Super Hornet. They have supported Desert Storm, Operations Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
