The Wildcats of VFA-131 began on October 3, 1983 flying the F/A-18 Hornet. The flew the Hornet for 34 years before transitioning in 2017 to their current aircraft, the F/A-18E Super Hornet. They have supported Desert Storm, Operations Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve.
