The Stingers of VFA-113 were commissioned on July 15, 1948 flying the F8F Bearcat. Over their years they have flown various aircraft to include the F4U Corsair, F9F Panther, A-4 Skyhawk, A-7 Corsair II, F/A-18 Hornet and today the F/A-18E Super Hornet. They have supported actions in Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, as well as Operations Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve.
