Celebrate the legacy of the Red Rippers with the VFA-11 Heritage Shirt. Established as VF-5 on February 1, 1927, the Red Rippers are the Navy's oldest continuously active fighter squadron, with a remarkable history spanning nearly a century of Naval Aviation.
Over the decades, the Red Rippers have flown some of Naval Aviation's most iconic aircraft, from early biplanes to the F4F Wildcat, F6F Hellcat, F4U Corsair, F-8 Crusader, F-4 Phantom II, F-14 Tomcat, and today's F/A-18F Super Hornet. Their history includes service in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and combat operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Middle East.
