The Red Rippers of VFA-11 are the US Navy's oldest continuously operated fighter squadron. They were commissioned in 1927 and have supported combat from WWII to Iraq and Afghanistan. During this time they have flown numerous different aircraft to included the F6F Hellcat, F4U Corsair, F-4 Phantom, F-14 Tomcat and today they operate the F/A-18F Super Hornet.
