The Gunslingers of VFA-105 were established on November 1, 1967. They initially flew the A-7 Corsair II for 23 years until 1990 when they transitioned to the F/A-18C Hornet which they flew up to 2006 when they began they changed to there current aircraft, the F/A-18E Super Hornet. During their tenure they supported action in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria.
