VF-33 Starfighters Squadron Shirt

Honor the legacy of VF-33, the Starfighters, and 45 years of U.S. Navy fighter aviation.

Established in 1948, VF-33 served through the Korean War, Vietnam era, Cold War, and Gulf War while operating generations of Navy fighters. The squadron flew aircraft ranging from the F4U Corsair and F-8 Crusader to the F-4 Phantom II, before transitioning to the F-14A Tomcat in 1981 and becoming known as the Starfighters.

Flying the F-14A, VF-33 deployed extensively aboard USS America and participated in operations off Libya during the 1980s. During Operation Desert Storm in 1991, the Starfighters flew combat missions from America, providing fighter coverage as the carrier operated in both the Red Sea and Persian Gulf. The squadron was disestablished on October 1, 1993.

Featuring an F-14 Tomcat on the front and the historic VF-33 Starfighters patch on the back, this shirt honors the aircraft, aviators, aircrew, and maintainers behind one of the Navy's storied fighter squadrons.
